Center for Research on Gastrointestinal Diseases

Given the prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases, including cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and Helicobacter pylori, in Ardabil province, the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Center at Ardabil University of Medical Sciences began its activities in early 2017 with the aim of conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of gastrointestinal diseases based on community needs. On November 1, 2020, the establishment of the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Center at Ardabil University of Medical Sciences was officially approved.

The Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases Research Center is a collection of specialized experts in matters related to gastrointestinal diseases, focusing on the control of these diseases, including the expansion of knowledge domains, epidemiology, diagnostic and treatment methods, and the identification of risk factors, particularly regarding stomach and esophageal cancers, which are classified as high-risk areas both in the country and globally.
